No, David, No...the Edney Version

My kids LOVE the book No, David! by David Shannon. He is a great artist! The story is about a mom telling his boy, David, "no" in several circumstances...but it ends with a sweet hug and an "I love you". One reason my kids love it so much is that I replace David's name with one of their's. I switch the names up as I reread it to them also , so they never know who is going to be doing what (I say a name everytime even though the book doesn't). They love it! It's also a good reminder to me of how sometimes children hear 'no' so many times throughout the day and by rewording a phrase or by telling what they CAN do, it makes a big difference. So, with it being cold outside and being stuck inside for a while, I thought it would be a great book to act out. Here is the Edney version of No, David! or rather...

*NOTE: no feelings were hurt during the making of this book

No, Cade, Hutton, Callaway and Toben!

Cade, Hutton, Callaway, and Toben's mom always said, "No, Cade, Hutton, Callaway and Toben!"

No, Callaway!

No, Cade, No!

No!No!No! Callaway, Hutton, Toben, and Cade!

Come back here, Toben!

Hutton, be quiet!

Don't play with your food, Cade!

That's enough, Callaway!

Callaway, go to your room!

Cade, settle down.

Stop that this instant, Toben.

Put your toys away, Hutton, Callaway, Toben, and Cade.

Not in the house, Hutton!

I said no, Hutton!

Hutton, Cade, Toben, and Callaway...come here!

Yes, Toben, Cade, Hutton, and Callaway...I love you!

So great Anitra!! I may have to steal the idea for a book for our crew. One question...were they all posed or are some of them snaps from real life? Some of them look so authentic. Great job!!
